With Kaplan’s win streak falling before the No. 5-ranked Iowa and Lafayette Christian getting dismantled by Vermilion Catholic, the districts that concern local schools now look a bit different.

Notre Dame sits at the top of the 6-3A schools, undefeated in four games. Kaplan 3-1 record sees them sitting in second. North Vermilion (1-3) finds themselves right under West St. Mary (2-2), with Abbeville and Erath both sitting on 0-4 records.

Delcambre’s district, 5-2A, has one undefeated team in Loreauville, who are trailed by Opelousas Catholic. And, sitting below Catholic of New Iberia are Delcambre, Westminster and Jeanerette at 1-3 on the season.

In District 7-1A, Vermilion Catholic handed Lafeytte Christian their first loss of the season, leaving the Eagles undefeated alongside Highland Baptist, who handed Central Catholic their fourth straight loss this year.

District 7-1A is the only one of the three districts to have begun district play.

Lafayette Christian and Hanson Memorial each have a 3-1 record, while Ascension Episcopal sits at 2-2 after losing to Hanson on Friday.

Gueydan and Central Catholic are both winless, with Gueydan at 0-3 while Central Catholic is at 0-4 (Gueydan had week three off).

It should be noted that these rankings are not official as district games either have not started or, in the 1A district’s case, only just started. Rankings will change as district play gets underway.
